Putin: Russia remains reliable grain supplier to Africa

MOSCOW, Aug 24 (PRIME) -- Russia helps the African states with grain supplies in spite of the obstacles created by other states, President Vladimir Putin said at a BRICS summit on Thursday.

"Our African friends may stay confident that Russia will remain a reliable supplier of agricultural goods continuing to support the states in the direst need," Putin said.

He added that the transport, insurance and payment difficulties do not prevent Moscow from continuing the efforts.

The president promised all necessary measures to prevent a food crisis in Africa and worldwide.
